Argus Migration and Re-Installations

Effective July 1, 2017 migrations and re-installations of the Argus software, for reasons outside of Argus software failure, will incur an hourly support rate of $206.25 Inc GST. This work must be scheduled in advance and generally requires an hour to complete.

Please ensure you have regular backups in place and make provision for offsite backup storage. If backups are not performed, historical Argus data may be lost in the event of hardware failure.

Overview and Features

Argus enables health services to communicate securely and reliably, transmitting confidential information without risking privacy or care standards. It automatically imports documents and patient notes into the patient record within clinical applications.

Argus runs alongside existing clinical software, operating in the background and managing the complexities around security and transmission.

Argus has been used across Australia for over a decade, by health and human services organisations as diverse as hospitals, GPs, specialists, Medicare Locals and allied health providers.

These organisations use Argus for the secure transmission of:
  • eReferrals and letters
  • admission and discharge summaries
  • emergency department encounter information
  • health and event summaries
  • case notes
  • pathology requests
  • transcribed documents
  • images, reports and results
Argus uses national infrastructure and is compliant with Australian eHealth and privacy standards including:
  • National Health Services Directory (NHSD)
  • Secure Message Delivery (SMD)
  • eHealth Practice Incentives Program (ePIP)
  • HL7 and CDA message and document formats



The list of clinical software packages that have interfaces with Argus is constantly growing. Below is the current list of Argus-enabled clinical packages.

If your clinical software is not listed but uses Microsoft Word as its letter/report writer then it is usually suitable for interfacing with Argus, as long as the templates are editable.

Software vendors interested in developing interfaces so that their product works with Argus are encouraged to contact us.

If you do not have clinical software, but have Microsoft Word you can still use Argus to send and receive.

Subscription pricing is available for general, specialist and allied health practices. An annual subscription bundles the Argus software licence with affordable technical support available by phone, email or remote connection. New Argus subscriptions incur a one-off installation fee in addition to the annual subscription fee. 

Argus Annual Subscription - Effective July 1st 2017

  • $164.20 per full time practitioner (six sessions / three days or more per week) per annum
  • $98.50 per part time practitioner (five sessions / 2.5 days or less per week) per annum

Your subscription includes:

  • Unlimited helpdesk support via phone, email or remote connection
  • Guided template design for sending with clinical software or ArgusWord
  • Up to 3,000 sent or received messages per site per year within the Argus network
  • All software upgrades, patches available online for auto-download

Minimum subscription is one full time practitioner. For larger practices pricing is capped so regardless of your practice size you'll only pay for a maximum of twelve full time practitioners. 

Argus Installation

A one-off installation fee of $275.00 is applied to all new Argus subscriptions, or where configuration is deemed extensive. Installation is completed remotely by an Argus support team member or Certified Argus Installer. 

The installation fee includes: 

  • One bonus month subscription (installation warranty period)
  • Remote training delivered by Teamviewer or online webinar  
  • Configuration to clinical software and directories
  • Testing to ensure trouble free installation


Priority Support

Argus has a fully dedicated team providing technical support including remote assistance to licensed Argus clients. Argus Support can provide assistance with installing, using and troubleshooting Argus software.

Remote Support

Argus Support can easily connect to your computer remotely to resolve technical problems with your installation of Argus.

The TeamViewer Quick Support application is used to access your computer remotely. This application provides a secure connection to your computer.  Access is only available with your permission and you can stop this at any time by closing the Quick Support ID and Password window.
